We have a client that is interested in Unified Personal Communicator, but doesn't plan to use the presence features. Is this a valid configuration? Can they use the UPC without presence/IM, etc..?
They have UCM 5.1, and are planning to upgrade to 6.x soon.

Sure, you can use the IPCP without any additional feature if you want.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

Paolo,
Thanks! Do you need a CUPS server though? I was told by TAC it's required. The client wants to use CUPC without CUPS for now, but will likely add it at a later date.
Thanks,
Brian

When you log into personal communicator you have to give the ip address of the presence server. There for you need to use cups server if you want to use CUPC. If they are not planning on using any of the features of presence why not just use ip communicator?
