Phone log not including dialed number in sip invite request-uri

Bit of a strange question, but I noticed that when I take a look at my Cisco SIP phone logs (pulled from the phone), the Invite request doesn't contain the dialed number. Example:

INVITE sip:***@10.20.160.3;user=phone SIP/2.0^M
Via: SIP/2.0/TCP 10.20.160.55:50528;branch=z9hG4bK48a6ed11^M
From: "***" <sip:***@10.20.160.3>;tag=706e6d1106de02281b830687-0b35e738^M
To: <sip:***@10.14.160.3>^M
Etc.....

My understanding is that the first line should include the dialed number, such as:

INVITE sip:+12024663987@10.20.160.3;user=phone SIP/2.0^M

It seems like there should be something under the "SIP Profile" section of CUCM that would govern this behavior to allow or disallow the dialed number appearance in the header, but I can't find it. Or maybe this is just the way things are with Cisco?

SIP Phone (Cisco 8851)-->CUCM 12.1-->MGCP Gateway-->PRI

Thanks!

When I checked my 8845 phone logs it shows  correct informations. Anonymous External Presentation is unchecked on Sip profile which I use.

AFAIK, if we restrict the presentation it will show anonymous but for you its ***

Anonymous External Presentation

This field only applies to outbound calls. Check this box to send External Presentation Name and Number as Anonymous.

Default: Disabled

Note

This field overwrites the setting on the originating device or configured on the Directory Number of the calling device.

Thanks, Nithin. It appears that that setting is only first available in CUCM 12.5, and we are running 12.1. I'll look into that once we upgrade at some point in the future.

However, it seems that the setting you mentioned only regulates "caller" information and not "called",  so I'm thinking that even changed, it won't allow the called number to appear in the SIP phone logs.

I don't think we can make calls working with  called information as Anonymous

Right, and I'm not trying to make them anonymous, and yet the phone log files aren't displaying the called number.

Hi,

did you check the call manager logs, what does it showing for the invite coming from these phones?

Regards.

A SIP Trace collection on Call Manager correctly shows the calling and called number for the call:

SIP/2.0 100 Trying
Via: SIP/2.0/TCP 10.14.160.55:51974;branch=z9hG4bK51da6b0d
From: "Lando Griffin" < sip:7260@10.14.160.3> ;tag=706e6d1106de000d11071ce7-3891a19d
To: < sip:815557528382@10.14.160.3>

And yet the phone logs only show asterisks where the numbers should be. I've also confirmed that it happens on any model of 88xx or 78xx phone, which makes me think it's a system wide CUCM setting somewhere.

Hey All,

did you find any solution for this? I also ran into this problem today with CUCM 11.5 cluster and 8841 phones. I then checked another CUCM 14 cluster and 8841 phones with the same problem....

Thank you

Nope, never found a solution.

k, thank you for your quick response
