Phone not ringing in Hunt Group after being in a call

Hi all,

We have a very weird scenario where our service desk hunt group rings all of our phones at once but when one user is on a phone whilst the phones are ringing but then finishes the call, their phone will not ring as a part of the hunt group. The same goes for if the call goes from this hunt group to another hunt group in the hunt list but then goes to the final hunt group where all the hunt groups in the hunt list will ring simultaneously until someone actually picks up.

Is there a setting in CUCM that I am missing or is this by design? I am unsure why this is occurring.

Hi James,

Just to add a note to the good ideas from my friend Deepak (+5)

I believe this is actually working as designed. When a call comes into a Hunt group/Line group setup and one of the Line group members is "busy" that member is tagged as busy for the duration of the hunting process. So even though user A is freed up during the hunting process it will not be presented this call as it is still tagged as busy. User A will only be able to participate in the Line group answering of the next newly presented call when it is tagged as available.

Cheers!

Rob

Hi James

Once a user finishes the call and do you see other members logout from hunt group?

You can try to uncheck below parameter to see if that helps.(Applicable for version 9.X onwards).thanks

The Hunt Groups do not have this option selected. I hope the following explanation sheds further light on the issue:

If user A is on the call with user E and is a part of Hunt Group Z as well as users B and C. User D calls Hunt Group Z and the phones of B and C are ringing. They do not answer. Meanwhile, user A finishes their call whilst B and C are still ringing but A's phone does not ring as a part of the Hunt Group. Because no one answered the phone, the call is now been passed on to Hunt Group Y which A, B and C are not a part of. No one answers Hunt Group Y and it is now passed on to Hunt Group X which incorporates all the users in Hunt Groups Y and Z and still User A's phone does not ring.

Now it is better ...i got what you are trying to say and i think this is working as design.

If phone A is already on call when D calls the hunt group then it rings or not will depend on busy trigger of that phone A .(I will  test it though). So if B and C doesn't answer and phone A doesn't ring then it will forward to forward no answer settings of hunt group.thanks
