Hi everyone, I have been trying to setup a cp-7841-3pcc and i cant get it to register with an asterisk server i am trying to use with it. I have it set up to where it uses dhcp to get an address, which also gives it the address of a tftp server to download its configuration from. When examining the traffic, I noticed that it first requests the file '7841-3PCC.xml', followed by 'Cisco/CP-7841-3PCC/18f935b6d795.cfg'. What is the difference between these files?
I don't have the 7841-3PCC.xml, but i do have the .cfg file(attached below, i added a txt extension so i could upload it). The phone is not even attempting to register with my sip server at 192.168.200.254 . I am struggling to find any definitive documentation on what these files do or what should be in them. If someone could explain or provide links I would greatly appreciate it. That said, what am I doing wrong and how can I get this phone to register with my asterisk server?

Here’s a video from Cisco Tech Talks on how to set up an MPP version phone. Follow it to register the phone.
Regarding your question about XML and CFG files: As far as I know, the .XML file contains details of the upgrade server for firmware updates, while the .CFG file includes SIP registration details. The phone uses the information in the .CFG file to activate features and connect to SIP servers. Please note that my understanding is limited, as I’m more familiar with enterprise phone versions.
