programme 'second line' softkey as single number speed dial on 7942 (CCME)

I have a CCME (3900 V15) with 7942 phones.

Is it possible to programme one the two 'line' softkeys (the two on the right of the LCD) to achieve this?

I believe these 'lines' are referred to as ‘buttons’ in the configuration.

i'm thinking a translation pattern to achieve the tail end but I can't figure out how the force (say button 2:1001) to dial something just by pressing it so that I can Xlate it to what I want.

Any ideas?

or, will it enter a speed dial in the directories menu!!!

That will produce the result exactly per picture, as 4 (four) people have told you on this thread!

Furthemore, users can configure and edit that by thmselves from the phone !!

Read and understand the answers, and stop be assuming about others not understanding!!!

I apologise!

Alas - no button still!!

i think we're half way there - perhaps I need ...

button 2:(put something here like TeleWere perhaps!!)??

here's my config ............................

Try this speed-dial 1 901302123456 label "TeleWare"

Remove fastdial.

Configure speed-dial 1.

Reset phone.

Again; you do not need things like button 2:

Nope!

So! I dont need to perform any configuration on the button I wish to apply the change!!

I have configured this on my lab 2900/ccme and same result - nothing appears on button 2 (Line 2) - and why would it!

You are providing a speed dial config which applies to the speed dial menu under the directories button.

I think Amine Nouasri's answer might be the right direction.

i'm try to configure a line button to automatically dial a number.

somehow button 2: needs a config to manipulate it to dial a number once it is pressed.

Really there is to say that you have a difficult attitude to deal with, even if you apologized before. Clearly, you have zero experience in configuring CME, and this is the very first time you are configuring a speed-dial, yet you have formed in your mind that for somethig to appears on button 2, you need to have a "button 2" command, and you are not believing anything else. The simple fact is that you are wrong:

On an IP phone, speed-dial entries are assigned to unused line buttons. Then, after all line buttons are used, subsequent entries are added but do not have an assigned line button. The speed-dial entry is not related to the physical button layout of the phone. Entries are assigned in order of speed-dial tag.

The entries that appears under personal directory are fastdial, not speed-dial.

Now, check your ephone-template configuration, as it may have a custom button-layout. And if not that, you are doing something else wrong.

+3.5!

We do use custom softkeys...

That doesn't change how speed-dial appears, so there must be something else.

Success!!

Only results in 'access number' appearing in my personal speed dial nothing else - after full phone reset (cable out/in)

Happy Thurs all!!

That still does not explain why "speed-dial" does not work, as it does in the thousands of other CME's installed in the world.

Perhaps had you remove "speedial" it would have, but you gave up.

Now you have an extra DN and setting that are not necessary, Also Note the DN 8 is single line so it canot do attended transfer, also it has a different number that the original user number.
