What are the reasons for an Auth Fail message when the phone is trying to load firmware? I know you can get that message if you didn't put the correct MAC address in the CUCM or if you have the model number wrong, but I have verified both of those things and I still get the auth fail message. The phone still boots up, but with a later firmware image.

Hi Robert,
You will usually see this when the current firmware that is running on the IP Phone
is too old to move to a newer version. For example....we know that to move to a Firmware
like 9-0-3S you must be at a minimum of 8-3-3. If you were at 8.3.2 when you
went to move to 9-0-3S you would see "Auth Fail" on the phone display and the Firmware
would not upgrade.
Hope this makes sense
Cheers!
