I'm looking for a SIP provider for one of my small business customers. Can some recommend a company that they have dealt with that has great support and service? Thanks in advance.

You may want to post where you are located, i.e. country/state/etc

Depends... are you looking for a reliable business-class SIP trunk... or SIP over the public internet?
For carrier-provided SIP trunks with QOS guarantee's, I have worked with:
TDS
Earthlink
CBeyond
All of them were acceptable, TDS has the best support. Earthlink has a larger set of features and network footprint.
For ITSPs:
Flowroute
NexVortex
Both of them mostly resell Level3... I have found Flowroute support and reliability to be better than NexVortex.
Just an FYI -- I have supported quite a few customers that wanted to do SIP over the public internet for cost savings... it can be nightmare. If you have audio quality problems, you will be able to do just about nothing. Your internet carrier will tell you that they do not guarantee QOS for voice and your ITSP will tell you that they cannot do anything about your carrier's performance.

Ask them to set up a trunk for testing.
Limited calls, whatever.
Then try your various call scenarios, especially fax.
We've seen some desperately poor service providers in the UK, especially around understanding of fax issues and support of t.38. Without it we've had a world of issues. It seems to me like the ease of setting up a 'carrier' using a half-configured Asterisk system is duping a lot of companies into paying a lot of money for some truly inept service.
