regarding transcoder

Hi,

I have configured transcoder in voice gateway and it is registered in CUCM. and the transcoder is not applied IN MRG and MRGL and DP applied in CTI route point.

WAN side we are using G.729 and UXXC is using G.711

call flow is,

cluster A ---- ICT trunk ---GK-- ICT trunk-----CLuster B------UCCX

when the call comes in through ICT trunk to CTI ROute point  the codec will changed in GW itself even itis not applied in MRG, MRGL, DP to CTI route point?

OK, what is your new question? You just copied and pasted your original post. You asked 2 questions, both of which have been answered:

1. Why is transcoder used - because it is not assigned to any MRG

2. Can I switch UCCX to G729 - yes

Do you have other questions?   If the above questions have been answered please mark the answers as resolved.

It is also a good idea to post each question as seperat thread to appeal to larger audiance.

Thanks,

Chris

Not applying it to anything makes it work, all media resources not assigned to any MRGs will be available to everybody, think of it as being in partition.

HTH,

Chris

Hi chris,

thank you. is it possible to change the codec of UCCX from G.711 to G.729 .

it is in production . customer ready to change the Wav file format to G.729.

Thanks.

Yes it is possible and is documented in UCCX guides, depending on your UCCX version it may be as simply as adjusting one parameter.

HTH, please rate all useful posts!

Hi,

I'm using uccx 8.5 version. and itis in production. we have the below call flow.

cluster A-----ICT trunk------GK-------ICT trunk-------Cluster B-------UCCX

the issue is,

if the call comes from cluster A to UCCX rarely call gets hanged.

in  WAN side we are using G.729 codec and UCCX G.711. we have HW transcoder  but not applied in the device pool which is applied ti the CTI route  point.

when the call come from ICT trunk to CTI route point rarely call hangs.. In WAN side we are using G.729 and UCCX uses G.711. we are using transcoder. but some times call hangs

transcoder is assinged to any MRG and in ICT config MTP required option is not checked.

any suggestion please
