Hi All,

We are facing issue while making outbound calls as we are hearing ring back tone( 1-2 rings) before actual PSTN phone rings and also if PSTN Phone is switched off it initially gives ringback than we get switch off message.

We are using SIP Gateway and CUCM Version 12

Kindly help on this.

Regards...

Sudhir kumar

Can you share your dial peer config? Incoming and outgoing.

Both of those should be a Telco issue. What ever VoIP protocol you are running, and which ever way ring back is being relayed (either GW local ring back or early media), it won't happen without the gateway receiving some sort of a PSTN signaling which usually is a PI value inside a proceeding, alerting or disconnect. Disconnect PI should be relevant for your second scenario.

You need to make sure whether your are using early-media or local ringback or combination. This can be verified using RTMT ladder diagram (by running real time call trace). If you are getting 183 message to CUCM then its a telco problem. If you are getting 180 message, check if you are using early-media or not. Also, make sure that you are having PRACK enabled if you are using early-media or 183 session progress.
