setting up 3 new PRIs on 2951

cooperma31

Level 1

We are setting up 3 new PRIs on a 2951 with Frontier.  We received 300 DIDs as part of the setup.  The PRIs are registered with CUCM, and they show up on the router.  However, when we try to make an incoming call with one of the new DIDs, the calling phone is silent for about 7 seconds, rings destination for like half a second and immediately disappears.  We receive the message all circuits are busy on the calling phone.  Looking at the debug, this is what I see for the call.  Any thoughts?

HI Cooper,

I would make sure the the switch type and PCM type(ulaw for T1) is set correctly on GW config on CUCM.You might to involve service provider to make sue D channel is error free at their end.thanks

As per logs soon after transmitting the alerting message you receive a disconnect.

I will check this.  I can say the Telco is saying it isn't their issue.  In their words, when we call 765-983-9199 the call rings the endpoint and they see it coming in on channel 1 and immediately jump to channel 2 to see if it is accepted there.  Funny thing, one number we have 765-965-5555 comes in on one of the PRIs and works just fine.

Edit -  we are using PRI NI2 and PCM Type of u-Law

A few things:

- Can you do "sh isdn status" and make sure it says "Multiple frame established"?

- How many digits do you use in your extension? The carrier is sending 10 digits in, you will need to reduce the digits via the gateway page or translation pattern in CUCM.

- Can you post a sh run and gateway page in CUCM?

Thanks,

FG

I do see multiple frame established on all three PRIs.  we reduce it down to 4 or 5 digits via translation.

Please can you also attached the MGCP config for 0/1/0 from the CUCM.

You have to make sure the Inbound CSS for gateway has access to the all DN's parition you are trying to reach and also significant digits can be set to 4 if you are using only last 4 digits as extension as service provider is sending full 10 digits.

I will try to upload the pics right now.

Here are the screenshots

Please can you make sure in Inbound calls section on GW config.

1) You have the Inbound CSS for gateway which has access to the all DN's partitions you are trying to reach

2) Significant digits can be set to 4 if you are using only last 4 digits as extension as service provider is sending full 10 digits.

i have confirmed that both of those settings are correct.  CW- INbound has everything in it, and we are matching at 10 digits with the teleco, which contradicts what i said earlier.

Could it be a dial peer or a route pattern that is causing this issue?

It is MGCP so dial-peer doesn't matter . These are only for SRST.

Do you still see the same error  ,if yes then you might want to check with provider if you think on CUCM correct translations are applied .

Thanks
