Dear experts,

We are planning to establish a SIP trunk from Cisco VG gateway to a new non-Cisco Session Border Controller (SBC). Currently, the Cisco gateway is configured with MGCP, but we intend to enable SIP for the purpose of setting up the SIP trunk. The desired connectivity is as follows:

PSTN analog > Cisco VG (MGCP to SIP) < sip trunking > New non-Cisco SBC > Cloud PBX

We have 3x Cisco ISR router as following:, 4331 VG routers registered with CSSM and 4351 voice gateway router is still On primese license.

Could you please clarify whether additional CUBE license is required or not for this setup , ASAP please?

(1) ISR/4331 (CSSM)
*UCK9
*found CUBE-T-STD - (license In Use)

(2) ISR/4331 (CSSM)
*UCK9
not found in Cube-T-STD License

the question is whether do we need CUBE license or not?

(3) ISR/4351 (On premise license)
*AdvUCSuiteK9
*found CUBE (Right to Use)

And, as of now, the Cisco ISR 4351 operates in (Right to Use) mode for the CUBE application.
let me know that is permanent or trials? and Could you kindly confirm whether an additional optional license is required for SIP trunking.

I truly appreciate your time and attention to this matter.

If possible, could you please share your thoughts or provide the necessary information at your earliest convenience?

Sincerely,

Min

If your gateway will be doing call routing from SIP to SIP you’ll need SIP trunking license. In your case it will. Persistent license would work up to version 16.9 of IOS, any version above this requires Smart Licensing.
