We recently set a new remot site location to have fax dialtone from an fxs card on a 2811 gateway. We have the lines connected to the equipment in the office but when we try to fax to it we get a normal handshake that fades out, and no fax transmission?
Anyone have any insight on this? We are trying to track down where thes issue is. Any suggestions or recommendatons would be a great help.
Thank you!
Rgds,
Vicky

Have you configured T.38 fax relay ? If not, you should.

Hi Paolo,
We have never used T.38 Fax Relay before and we haven't run into this issue. We are using an FXS card on a 2811 ISR gateway router for analog dialtone as we do in many of the offices. What does T.38 fax relay do for this scenario?

Hi again,
It looks like T.38 is not supported on the 2800 series routers.

It is supported.
Fax relay allows fax to work over VoIP, thing that isn't guaranteed otherwise.
