Suddenly incoming calls not working, hitting VM (SIP phone-7961g)

Today user reported  that his phone stopped recieving calls. He could place outbound calls without issue but inbound calls were not working. Inbound calls would either go straight to his voicemail, or the caller would get a message saying the number was invalid or incomplete. I power cycled the phone which appears to have taken care of the issue as it is working correctly now however I would like to investigate what happened. When I rebooted the phone it took a VERY long time to boot up, and after booting up the phone was very slow and unresponsive for a minute or two. It's back to normal now .Any suggestions on this issue please,is there anything I can find from Phone console logs?

sounds like a DB issue to be honest. so the phone displayed the extension on the phone's display, but some how there is no valid DN entry in the cucm db. i know this sounds a bot vague, but I have seen similar issues DB related in the past.  definitely keep an eye on it happening again. if it happens more often, raise a TAC (LOL) case and potentially upgrade

To add on to what Dennis said, the best way to go about this would be to fetch CCM traces for an event and see the point of failure, so other info which would be helpful in isolating this would be whether, the Phone and the calling entity are on different nodes. If replication is fine, uptime of the server etc.
