switchport on 8841 phone

My understanding is the phone swport cannot be managed. But if it’s bad, it can prevent a pc from getting an ip address right? my company uses the 8841.

You mean switchport voice vlan ?

The switch port provides connectivity for both the VoIP phone and the PC, often using a technique called VLAN trunking. If the VLAN configuration is incorrect or if the switch port is experiencing issues, it can disrupt connectivity for both the phone and the PC, affecting IP address assignment and network access.

Sure that is Limitation Most of the deployments. if your environment have voice and Data in single port (PC connected to Phone).

sorry. i meant the switchport in the back of desk phones, like the 8841. i was hoping for more info about them.
