The Called number is busy but I can't know that

Hello ,

I have a CUCM version
 System version: 10.5.1.10000-7

And I have a Sip voice gateway , integrated with CUCM with Sip trunk.

When the IP Phone users call external number , and the number is busy they can't know that the other side is busy , it's just ringing on both side , kindly is there any specific I need to add in CUCM or voice gateway to let the Caller to know that the Called number is busy ?

Thanks

is the phone that is being called configured with a busy trigger of 1?

Hello ,

yes , I make sure the busy trigger is set 1 , the same result , but what is the relation  between the outcalls and this ? i know it for the incoming calls for this ip phone not out calls for external number

Thanks

Assuming both systems are CUCM, there is no way to do what you're asking.

If you set the busy trigger to 1, the phone can receive only 1 call, and the next one will get the CFB behavior.

If you want the phone to receive more than 1 call, you need to adjust the busy trigger accordingly, but the caller will hear regular ringback, and no way to indicate the called party is in another call.

You'd need to use BLF, BLF enabled directories or Jabber to monitor the line, and know that it's already on another call.

Hello Jaime ,

Cisco IP phones are not reviving the calls but sending .

The scenario is a call from my mobile number 1 to a mobile number 2 and the call is connected " out of Cisco " , now when I make a call to my mobile number 1 or 2 from IP phone , it's ringing in the IP phone < it doesn't give me that the mobile number is busy , I need the ip Phone to knows that the mobile number I'm trying to call is busy now .

No way to do that, that is completely out of your control, that would be something the telco whoever owns/manages that mobile number would need to do, assuming they have a way to do so.

You need to tell the complete call flow. Are you using PRI or is it end-to-end SIP ? If it's SIP - PRI setup, then it might be an issue with the way PI is being sent by the Telco and being relayed over SIP.

Its a call between two mobile numbers , and then IP Phone tries to call one of these busy call but it didn't give that the the called number is busy .

We have a SIP voice gateway connected with one CUCM server using SIP trunk

Do you have a GW with a PRI terminating for these calls ? If yes, take a "debug isdn q931" and "debug ccsip message" for a test call in this scenario.

Hi do you have the SIP trunk with ping options enabled and do you see the SIP trunk to be active to the Voice Gateway and are the calls reaching to the Voicegateway, if not make sure that you have a SIP profile assigned to that trunk with ping options enabled (This will tell you if the SIP trunk is active)

https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/collaboration-voice-and-video/how-to-enable-sip-options-ping-feature-on-a-sip-trunk/ta-p/3160559

Also make sure that there are Dial peers configured from voice gateway to CUCM if you have a Publisher and Subscriber there should be dial peers from voice gateway to your CUCM with preferences for the trunk to be active,

enable "debug ccsip messages" on your Voicegateway and also if you have a PRI connection that you are using to connect to your provider run "debug isdn q931" separately  after debug ccsip messages make sure that you are giving "u all" command after collecting debugs and post the logs here
