I am running CUCM 8.6.1.20000-1 and I have a pair of IP intercoms running on SIP. The SCCP phones I have all appear as their description when they call one another but the IP Intercoms which are third party only show up as phone numbers. I am looking for a way to get these to appear as a description so my users can associate them with the description which will be a physical location.
Has anyone ran into this problem?

In CCMAdmin, check the alerting name on the line: Call Routing -> Directory Number.

The alerting name and the description and the ascii alerting name are all what I want it to appear as but it still won't do it. :(
