1) how can i configure my router to generate only " XMLDedault.cnf .Xml " file?

2) Why Do we have so many instances of same group of files, some of them are shown as deleted eventhough I never issued any command to delete them?

.

Thanks and Happy Thanks Giving to all of you

Hi Sarah,

I believe this is because you have selected "cnf-file perphonetype" under telephony-service. Can you try "cnf-file perphone" instead? I believe that should take care of the numerous files you're seeing in flash.

Harmit.

No, you do not have that control.

When you remove the command as indicated above, the XML files will be kept in RAM.

Hi Sarah,

Yes, perphonetype is the default, hence you dont see it in the running config. However, if you run "show telephony-service", you will be able to see the following:

cnf-file location: flash:

cnf-file option: PER-PHONE-TYPE

So once you configure perphone, it would take care of the numerous files seen in the flash.

It that bothers you (it shouldn't), configure

no cnf-file location flash

you can then remove files.

Note: 2600 is a very, very old model. You will have much better results with a newer one.

Hi Paolo

no cnf-file location flash

Please correct me if I am wrong. The above command tells router the location where CNF files should be generated.

Does It also tell router how many CNF files should be generated? I guess not.

The question is: do we have any control as to what  CNF files a router should generate for example in my case I want router to generate only XMLDefault.cnf.xml file?

thanks.

Hi Harmit

telephony-service

load 7960-7940 P00308000500

max-ephones 4

max-dn 4

ip source-address 201.201.201.1 port 2000

cnf-file location flash:

max-conferences 4 gain -6

transfer-system full-consult

create cnf-files version-stamp Jan 01 2002 00:00:00

!

cnf-file perphonetype is not configured under telephony-service as shown above. I am not sure if this commnad is a defaeult under telephony-service.

If it is not the default, then how do we explain creatinf of that many cnf files in flash ?

thanks
