The main secretary has developed an issue where if someone calls her phone and she wants to transfer them to someone internally she presses the transfer button, she dials the ext she wants to transfer to and when she goes to press the transfrer button it pops up saying this key is not active. It has me scratching my heads because she has never had this issue before. If she tries to pick up the line again all she gets is a dial tone, she cant resume the call.
She has a Cisco IP 7962 phone (6 lines) and we are running the CCM 6.1.4.1000-10

If this is internal calls this might require some traces, my guess is this external calls which means you most likely are using H323 and you either don't have the MTP required on the GW config, you're running out of MTP resources, or the MRGL from the GW doesn't have an MTP included.

Opps sorry about that part, this is from external calls. Let me go test out the internal calls then

We rebooted the Cisco Call Manager in a desperation move to figure out the issue and everything is working now.
lol
Guess we really need to start looking at the CCM here!

I am experiencing the same issue.. centralized CCM 7.1.3 cluster with a mix of 7942 and 7962 IP phones. The only examples I have are from attempted transfers of external callers coming in thru SIP gateway. The problem is sporadic.. it will work for days on end, then then suddenly for an hour it will happen on and off at one or more of our branch offices, then go away again. Seems to me a resource depleation issue, however we don't have any RTMT alerts. Can anyone suggest a troubleshooting methodology to uncover the source of this problem?
