Guys,
im doing something wrong and just needed some clarifiaciton.
i have some DID numbers im translation on an h323 gateway. this is the scenario
ISP providing a range of DID numbers 821-59XX. im translating the 59XX to 29XX. the details are as follows
/82159+/ /29/
This works fine for numbers 2900 to 2989 meaning i havethe DID numbers works for all these. but from 2990 - 29999 the translation does not work. if i test voice-translation rule <tag> 8215999 it translates to 29.
any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Try changing your rule to:
/^82159/ /29/

I have tested both translations, and either of the two translations below successfully translates the number that you require.
/^82159/ /29/
or
/82159/ /29/

Allan.

so whats the latest recommendation though?
again id like to translate 82159XX to 29XX.
therefore 8215900 translates to 2900 down the line until 8215999 to 2999.
again. i have 2900 to 2989 working properly with /82159+/ /29/
thanks again

Hi Darren and Allan,
Love to see people lab things up to test out scenarios for others. 5 points for both of you for your time and effort!
Thanks again,
