Is there any way to change the default SIP UDP port on the UC520W from 5060 (see attached) to 7060?

This is required by my VoIP service provider.

Thanks.

The UC 520 reached end-of-life in 2016. It's time to replace them with new ones. I don't think you can do that from the GUI; check if it's possible through the CLI.

I know it can't be done via the GUI, and I'm hoping someone knows how to do it via the CLI.

I appreciate the UC520W was EOL 8 years ago, but there are good reasons not to just chuck old kit into e-waste landfill. Many charities and other non-profit organisations who can benefit from the functionality of something like the UC520W simply can't afford new. And as long as they realise the shortcomings of using EOL kit, I have no qualms in them recycling it - way too much perfectly serviceable IT kit ends up in e-waste landfill.....

I haven't worked much on the UC520, and the last time I did was almost 9 years ago. However, my understanding is that it should have dial-peer configurations. Log in to the CLI and check if there are dial-peers towards the IP address of the ITSP, where you could specify the port. I'm not sure if this will help, though.

Why does your provider need to change the port number? I haven't encountered providers using ports other than the standard for SIP

I have no idea, other than it possibly increases security.....

  • Not sure I understand you - can you please explain further?

What is it that you don’t understand? Can you please be a little more specific?

Do you know if and how it's possible to change the default SIP UDP port on a uc520w using the CLI?

Could you post the CLI configuration of the UC520, hiding the IP addresses? This will help us provide the best option for you.

If I recall correctly, you get the configuration by logging into the CLI and issuing the command show run will give you the configuration.
