Dear All,

We are unable to make external calls over FXO lines. When digit is pressed we are hearing noise and cannot dial further. What could be the problem.

Is the call being made from phones registered to cucm or CME and what is the exact call flow? Do you have the output of the following from the gateway for a test call

show voice port summ

debug voice ccapi inout

and the running config from the gateway.

Hello Manish,

Phones are registered to CME and I have 6 FXO lines. I am hearing a crackling noise.

Phone à CME à FXO à PSTN

PORT CH SIG-TYPE ADMIN OPER STATUS STATUS EC
=============== == ============ ===== ==== ======== ======== ==

0/1/0 -- fxo-ls up dorm idle on-hook y
0/1/2 -- fxo-ls up dorm idle on-hook y
0/1/3 -- fxo-ls up dorm idle on-hook y
0/2/1 -- fxo-ls up dorm idle on-hook y
0/2/3 -- fxo-ls up dorm idle on-hook y
0/3/0 -- fxo-ls up dorm idle on-hook y

Do you means the call is established but there is a voice quality issue? Do the internal calls between phones registered to CME work fine?

Manish

Do you mean the call is established but there is a voice quality issue?

No. Calling is not getting established.

Do the internal calls between phones registered to CME work fine?

Yes.

Now calling to mobile numbers is working fine (only mobile numbers not landline)

Let me explain.

Following number is a local landline number 96602808, and when the user dials the number there is no progress tone (meaning no further indication). Please find the debug ccapi output.

Calling Number: 81504

Called Number: 96510666.

From the debugs the call is going out via dialpeer 4 and it does connect but immediately disconnects with cause code 16 which is normal, i would say check with your Telco about this unless someone can find anything diff / additional in the debugs.
