Can we use option of Dial by Name without using Cisco unity connection ? I know it can be done with help of outlook integration but just wanted to know opinion of experts. I tried to search UCCX aa.aef script but i do not think that have dial by name feature.

OK, so, exactly where do you want to enable dial by name if you don't have CUC?

Anywhere except Cisco Unity connection. :D
Main requirement from business side is that not most of the users use voicemail so they want to get rid of it but need dial by name option.

With CCX you would require ASR server integrated to CCX such as Nuance. Another option would be MSFT Exchange UM, but CUC would definitely be the simplest solution.

Thanks Chris for quick response. So for UCCX side, do i need to create all the users as agents on UCCX or UCCX will touch base CUCM database for all user information ?
MS Exchange is definitely an options and i assume that this kind of service can also provided by any customized 3rd party software. Correct ?
