Hi,

We have CUEAC 8.6 (physical server) and we'd like upgrade to 9.1 (virtual machine).

I have checked the upgrade process (http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucmac/arc/CUACEE_91110WAG.pdf) but the process describe the upgrade on the old server and we like upgrade (keeping the same configuration) to virtual machine.

do you know the process for install the version 9.1 and retrieve the configuration from the version 8.6?

How workaround I though convert the physical server in virtual and then upgrade (OS, SQL and finally AC), but I don't know what happen with the licenses. what do you think? thanks a lot.

Regards,

one topic clarified.

do you know about the upgrade to other server (virtual) and not on the same server?

Hi,

I was just referring the link which u have shared for upgrades which I suppose refer to installation on new server but does not talk about how to get access to the installation files.

Upgrading Cisco Unified Attendant Console Server

To upgrade a Cisco Unified Attendant Console server:

I suggest  if somebody who has done this could  guide us better.

First of all since you are performing a major upgrade from 8 to 9 you will need new license file regardless of either you stay on the same machine or you do on a different machine. As long as you have a valid UCSS contract its free and covered.

To download the installation files go to below URL:

http://www.cisco.com/go/ac

And  lastly the way I had done in the past (had done the premium edition v9) was to install the application on new machine and configured new system in parallel and then cut over to the new.

Hope that helps

Hi,

thanks for share your experience. But, what happen with operarators' configuration (speeddial and extra information introduced for them in the contact of the directory)? How can I migrate this information?

Regards

Hi,

I have captured the info which says:

Licensing Your New Server

Each new Publisher server requires a new license file.

Immediately after installation your new server will run for a 5-day evaluation period without a license.

You can extend this period to 60 days.

To obtain a new full (purchased) license file, contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) with

either:

The SO number for the software you purchased

The license activation code (LAC) for your previous installation

and request a re-host. Cisco TAC will reset the LAC, which will allow you to generate a new permanent

license
