Hi Everybody,
I'm going to create a meetme video conference. However, when config it to use VGA, only audio conference is allowed
Here is the hardware:
Here is the VG config (working),
VG(Config)#
!
voice-card 0
voice-service dsp-reservation 6
!
dspfarm profile 1 conference video homogeneous
codec g729br8
codec g729r8
codec g729abr8
codec g729ar8
codec h264 cif frame-rate 15 bitrate 128kbps
maximum conference-participants 4
maximum layout 1x1
maximum sessions 1
associate application SCCP
!
Here is the VG config (Fail),
VG(Config)#
!
voice-card 0
voice-service dsp-reservation 6
!
dspfarm profile 1 conference video homogeneous
codec g729br8
codec g729r8
codec g729abr8
codec g729ar8
codec h264 vga frame-rate 30 bitrate 1mbps
maximum conference-participants 4
maximum layout 1x1
maximum sessions 1
associate application SCCP
!
here are the test result with different codec
When using the DSP calculator from Cisco.com,
1 video conference profile
number of session : 1
number of participants : 4
Conference type : Homogeneous - 1 class
H.264 VGA : Checked
It returns:
DSP Module Allocation:
Router Slot 0: 16 Video (25%) 4 Voice (7%) 44 Available (68%)
PVDM Slot 0/0: PVDM3-64
So, why I cannot use the VGA with PVDM3-64 ?
Thanks in advance
Sam

Feature Deprecation Announcement for Video Conferencing and Transcoding Using PVDM3 on ISR G2 Product Bulletin

It seems it was never really recommended, or supported, according to the doc, bear that in mind if you have issues and require TAC assistance.
you should start looking into vTP or TP on appliance servers

is there enough bandwidth available to run 1Mbps video? QOS settings?
are you seeing below from 9971 9.2.1 release notes
Due to limitations in the H.264 video signaling standards, Cisco Unified IP Phones 9951 and 9971 may not correctly display video received from devices supporting resolutions greater than 640x480. In this case, the user will see a black video screen.
To insure that video from such devices is properly displayed on the IP phone, the best solution is to configure high definition phones and Cisco Unified IP Phone 8961, 9951, and 9971 into different call regions and limit the video bandwidth to 384 kb/s when calling between regions.

thanks for the reply, and I re-try on w360p (that's with 9971 resolution)
codec h264 w360p frame-rate 30 bitrate 448kbps
it also fail to see the video (but it auto changed to audio conference - all parties)

It looks like your problem is the frame rate you are selecting. Try and do it without the frame rate and the gateway will automatically select the default frame rate..Do it like below..
dspfarm profile 1 conference video homogeneous
codec g729br8
codec g729r8
codec g729abr8
codec g729ar8
codec h264 vga

just tried
codec h264 vga
and it auto generate the following configuration
codec h264 vga frame-rate 30 bitrate 1mbps

Is that mean PVDM3 for video conferencing and transcoding on ISR is not recommended ?
