Hi Gents,
First, I have a CUCM v7.1 and a Unity Connection v2.1
What I want to do (and need your help for this) is that:
3 users have a DN and an individual VM
The same 3 users are in a hunt group and if they are busy or if they don't answer call, I want to have a Global Voicemail for this group that can be accessed by the 3 users.
The MWI must also work when there is a message in the global Voicemail box.
anyone has an idea on how to achieve that?
Many thanks for your help.

let me give you an example , lets say that your piot number is 1111 and ( 3 DNs which you have 3333,4444,5555)
1-Create a new number, let's say 6666 (can be any number) and we'll call this the group mailbox #. Add this new number, 6666, to a spare button on 3333, 4444& 5555 (second line).
2-Change the mailbox from 1111 to 6666.
3-Then add 1111 as an Alternate Extension under 6666. This
can be done on Unity connection ...... Here's how;
4-Sharing a Cisco Unity Voice Mail Box between Two or More IP Phones
5-Configure Alternate Extensions
6-Open the Unity System Administrator web page.
7-Navigate to the subscriber's profile. Select users> Find and Select a user > Enter user Information then click Find and click the user's name for the user that owns the primary phone (6666).
8-When the user page comes up, select the Alternate Extensions option and click Add.
9-Enter the alternate extension number (in this case 1111) and click the Save icon.
So now when a call routes through the 1111 Hunt Config and arrives at
Unity, it will see a match via the Alternate extension between 1111 & 6666
and will set the RED message lamp on 6666 on all 3 phones

Hi vanwit,
Let's divide this process in two step:
Step one:
You will need to create a General Voicemail for all the user, then create a Forwarded rule to match all the calls route by the Hunt Group to the General Voicemail. As a alternate option you can assign the Hunt Group pilot as the voicemail extension, I haven't done it this wat but it should work.
Step Two:
You need to setup Alternate Extension for the General Voicemail that you have create to be able to notify all the phone when a voicemail is received:
Step 1 In Cisco Unity Connection Administration, find the user account for which you want to add an alternate extension.
Step 2 On the Edit menu, select Alternate Extensions.
Step 3 On the Alternate Extensions page, select Add New.
Step 4 On the New Alternate Extension page, in the Phone Type list, select the applicable phone.
Step 5 In the Display Name field, enter a description of the alternate extension.
Step 6 In the Phone Number field, enter the phone number of the alternate extension.
Step 7 Select Save.
Just remember to forward all the busy or not answer calls to CUC.
Regards

Hi,
Thanks for this answer.
Questions:
First: how to create the general voice mail for the hunt group?
Second: I need to setup 3 Alternate extension to the general voice mail if I have 3 users in my hunt group?
For information, I am in version 2.1 on unity connection, not version 8.

Simple, just go to Users->User-> Add New, then complete all the value information.
Yes, you will to need to seup 3 altenate extension.
I have never work with version 2.1 but it should work almost the same.

Many thanks kamal!
I think I understand the process. Just one question on step 2 & 3.
'change the mailbox from 1111 to 66777': what is the aim of 66777 mailbox? it should not be 6666?
Thanks for your help?

Hello Kamal,
I am finalising the offer and have another question regarding your answer:
on step 7,
7-Navigate to the subscriber's profile. Select users> Find and Select a user > Enter user Information then click Find and click the user's name for the user that owns the primary phone (6666).
It means that the second shared line that I will create on my 3 phones need to be a primary line on one phone? Can I create a VM Box on Unity Connection for a number on a second line?
Second point, on the hunt pilot configuration, I configure the Forward hunt no answer and forward hunt busy to CUC hunt pilot. Is that right?
Thanks for your help.

Hi there,
For step #7 - this does not need to be the primary number on any phone.
You can create a new VM account for any number & in this case you want
6666 to be a shared secondary number on the member phones. This is
perfectly workable
You should be able to tweak the Message Lamp Setting in CUCM for the 6666 Line appearances;
For the Line Setting on 6666
Line Settings for this Device - Changes affect only this device
Message Waiting Lamp Policy - Light and Prompt
The RED Message Lamp will then work for these Second lines on each phone.
And for your second query, yes, the Hunt Pilot page is where you set
the FNA/Hunt to the CUC pilot# (use the VM checkbox).
Cheers!

Thanks Rob,
So when a call arrive on CUC with CLID 1111, it will be redirected to 6666 VM Box due to the fact that 1111 is set up as alternate extension on 6666 VM Box. I don't create so 1111 VM Box. Correct?

Hi there,
You are most welcome my friend
You are exactly correct! The call will route via 1111 to the
CUC pilot (via the hunt settings) and CUC will match to 6666
due to the Alternate extension config. Works like a charm.
Cheers!

One Answer = Voicemail Distribution Group
Check this out. In this case another option would be to setup a voicemail distribution list. It will light up the lamp (MWI) on all of the phones and whenever the voicemail is listened too, it gives the user the options to accept the message or reject it. If it is accepted by one of the users when they check their voicemail, all voicemail lamps go off. If it is rejected then just that users voicemail lamp goes off. The others will have the option to accept or reject. If all reject the final person gets no options. Works great.
