VoIP - voice volume

Hi,

is there a way to control voice volume of a VoIP call (RTP stream) somewhere between the end user devices or between the end user device and a voice gateway, resp.? Maybe on the gateway itself or by something like an RTP proxy?

Thanks,

Peter

Hi,

The way to control the volume is by using input gain and output attenuation.

However increasing these parameters can cause the voice issues such as choppy

or degraded voice, so you need to play with the values and see which best suits

your network.

input gain. ->  (More positive = more volume sent to IP phone user)

Volume for outbound calls - calls outgoing to the PSTN (from IP phone to PSTN),

adjust the output attenuation. ->  (More negative = more volume being sent to PSTN user)

Regards,

Tere.

Hi Tere,

thanks for the info. Could you give me some hints regarding the commands, too?

Thanks,

Peter
