Hi again cisco techs,
Have another issue for you. 2691 router doesnt read 256mb external compact flash in slot0.I want to transfer 77mb tar file to external flash:
I was transferring cme file to flash when I get a run out of memory message displayed when transfer was half completed at 50%.
Using command erase slot0 (to format the CDflash gets
cme_router#erase slot0:
Erasing the slot0 filesystem will remove all files! Continue? [confirm]
%Error erasing slot0: (No device available)
The memory card is in the slot as the black push in button on the left side is pushed out
sh ver output is
cme_router#sh ver

Hi John,
this is tftp and u are using ftp to do file transfer.tftp-server command means u are using your router as a tftp -server.
Basically this command is used to transfer IOS from one router to another , thereby making one router as tftp server instead of doing it on PC.

That is likely due to a tftp-server command left in configuration.

Thanks Paolo for your reply.
Do you know how I would remove this please?

Hi John,
Issue the command no tftp-server under config t.
I was checking your other discussion wherein u have mentioned CF has gone faulty.

Does that command stop the existing ftp set up via FileZilla that I have transferring files from server to router?

Thanks Amanso,
That has answered my question.
Is there a way to test to see if slot0 is functional on router?
05-23-2013 06:53 AM
Hi John,
The slot on router would be functional.Your Compact Flash would have gone faulty.
If u have another CF, format it on 2691 router and then, upload IOS.

Actually. For tftp server is not the router. Is a server via a ROAS scenario.

Hi John,
You remove the tftp-server command from router if u have a different tftp server.
