I'm upgrading a server to 8.6 and i've installed ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.1.cop.sgn.
These were the last couple lines from the console:
02/23/2012 23:08:48 killing copstart.sh pid=31809
02/23/2012 23:08:48 Waiting for CLI/GUI to show cop install success before terminating all CLI/GUI sessions
02/23/2012 23:08:48
*****************************************************************************************************************
SUCCESS: Successful install of refresh_upgrade_v1.1. All GUI and CLI sessions will terminate shortly. Tomcat will be restarted, which can take several minutes.

Successfully installed ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.1.cop.sgn
A system reboot is required when the upgrade process completes or is canceled. This will ensure services affected by the upgrade process are functioning properly.

*** Warning: Terminating all CLI sessions NOW ***
Will the server reboot on its own, or do I need to manually initiate a restart myself?

Hi
The refresh COP just updates the GUI and things to do with the upgrade process for 8.6; so it restarts the Tomcat and CLI so they show the new changes. This doesn't affect call processing, and it's done automatically.
There is no need to restart and you can simply go ahead and run the main upgrade.

Hi Michael,
Aaron is most correct here (No doubt +5)
The final reference you are seeing via the cli output;
A system reboot is required when the upgrade process completes or is canceled. This will ensure services affected by the upgrade process are functioning properly.
is in relation to the actual 8.6 upgrade process, not the refresh.cop
The details are in this great doc from Ryan;

Cheers!

Even on a screaming fast B-Series UCS server, going from 7.1.3 to 8.6.1a takes absolutely forever.
Thanks guys, this has been helpful.
