VLAN handoff to service provider for EVPL to customer not working

Julie Tupling

We have configured a VLAN on 2 ME3400GE switches to move traffic between
a trunk port to a service provider (EVPL circuit) and an access port to customer router
and traffic is not passing.  On both switches there is incoming traffic  for the vlan
(2001) but there is no outgoing traffic. On switch 1 there is an access port for vlan 2001
that connects to the customers router and a trunk port that passes the traffic to a second
ME3400GE switch that has a second trunk port defined that is limited to vlan 2001 that
hands off to our service provider who has configured an ethernet virtual private line to
LA, where our customer connects their equipment (a switch).  I can do a sh cdp neighbor on
each switch and see our customers equipment - a router on one side and a switch on the
other - but vlan traffic is not passing through. Our provider is tagging traffic entering
their equipment in LA with VLAN 2001.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you configured the trunk ports as "port-type nni" ?
