Cisco Prime 1.3 Device Type groups

HI @ll

The Cisco Prime 1.3 shows all Switches in the Device Group "All", but in the device group "Device Type" I see no switches, routers.

I think cisco prime creates rule-based device groups and assigns devices to the appropriate Device Type folder.

Cisco prime discovered the switches 5 days ago.

Can anyone help me?

Best regards

Bernhard Mayer

My PI (version 1.3) put switches and routers in the appropriate groups automatically without any user intervention.

Are the discovered switched supported devices per the compatibility matrix?

PI keys off the snmp sysobjectIDs in that listing to decide the proper place to put new devices. you can verify your device sysobjectD from the command line thus:

#sh snmp sysobjectid

1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.577

(for a 2821 router in this example)

Yes, my switches are supported devices:
