My client is looking to replace their ASA5505 with an ASA5506-x along with upgrading their Internet connection. They are currently on a 25/25Mbps connection with the 5505 and are looking to upgrade to either 100/100 or 150/150.
The existing configuration meets their business needs (email, access to business websites, VPN functions. They tried testing with 75/75, 100/100, and 150/150 connections with the provider. We saw distinct improvement on the 75/75 on the 5505 (something on the order of 80 down/40 up).
The higher throughput is being asked about in the context of supporting additional casual use (non-work related web browsing, etc)
Were they to replace the 5505 with a 5506, would it be reasonable to expect anything in the order of low 100Mbps throughput if they were to go to the faster link? I see the published specs on the 5506 that seem to approximately double the ability of the 5505.
Was just wondering if anyone had real world experiences on this.
Thank you.
