Hi
Its not possible to check out the serial nos of the equipments as you are trying with 1700box.
But the same is possible with 3750 and 2950 which i have seen but it doesnt give the serial no when u issue in routers.
better to go out there and physically verify the same..
for verification purpose as i have read earlier you can bind it on snmp cli (as chasis id) so that u can verify the next time using the same.

In this output it should be the Processor Board ID FOC09293SFJ.

There is not anything in the show version command that will tell you the serial number of the router. Since you are running 12.3(11)T5 on a 1700 router it should support the show inventory command. the show inventory command does show the serial number of the router.

Yes there are multiple serial numbers displayed. In my experience the first one for chassis (NAME: "1712 chassis") will match the serial number on the label on the router. So I believe that your router serial number is SN: FOC09293SFJ (3456278939).
