LMS 4.2.2 doesn't terminated SSH sessions on ACE

Hi!

Earlier we had same problem with LMS 3.2 but the below timeout settings helped me.

(RME-Admin-Config Management- Fetch Interval)  from 180s 420s.

Now after LMS upgrade ( 4.2.2 ) the SSH sessions are stucked on ACE. We had not experienced it with 4.2.1

Lajos-ACE/Admin# show ssh sess

Session ID     Remote Host         Active Time

24440          10.42.10.227:24727    1:39: 6

24722          10.42.10.227:25931    1:25:32

24779          10.42.10.227:25997    1:24:35

25763          10.42.42.189:3925     0:27:57

26252          10.42.42.189:4019     0: 0:14

Our questions:

I dont find the same fetch parameters in LMS 4.2.2) How can i find it

There are not same in the  Admin > Network > Timeout and Retry Settings .

I can confirm this bug is still present in version 4.2.3. This causes failures in our backups

Session ID     Remote Host         Active Time

11346          xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx :27419   128: 5:38

22886          xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx :36318   176: 3:17

Is anyone else seeing this behavouir ?

Thanks

CSCtz42393 is fixed in LMS 4.2.3. Sometimes it needs still more time than normal, where you can try to increase the job time wait to around 500 and try again on ACE.

achrich,

On your output connection time is just 5 min and 3 min. Which may be due to running job.

Also, in devices like ACE it is normally required by ciscoworks to have two connection used to archive configuration.

I`m running 4.2.3 and its not a job still running as all should have finished hours ago..it reads a lot longer then 5 minutes to me.

Here`s another one which maxes out our allowed sessions of 4

8166           xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx   104:20:12

13651         xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx   128:21:12

19233         xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx   152:21:12

19322         xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx   152:20:24

Thanks for the bug info I will try the increase of time out and see what happens.

Hi,

Very Thx for new infos.

Unfortunetly i do not find where can i set the time out .

RME-Admin-Config Management- Fetch Interval setting was in the OLD LMS only.

Now there is no similar possibility!!!

Do we have any update on this issue? I have a 4710 and it backed up fine but my ACE30 is not backing up. I am running 4.2.5. LMS 4.2.5 is a fully supported Cisco product that they don't seem to be putting adequate resources into fixing bugs.

Hi Andrew,

I have no good news a bout this issue.

My tac was closed w/o result. The identifed this behaviour like a BUG.

Karoly try the fix from this support article where Jason illustrates how to fix another issue that may be related. It seems that over ssh we couldn't backup the ACE30 either until we performed this step and following that it also seemed to help with stuck connections. We did also raise our number of allowed SSH connections on our 4710 appliance to 16.

Thanks,

Andrew
