Hi could you please point me in the right direction for the correct download? For the life of me I can't find the LMS upgrade from v3.1 to v3.2 for windows... I've tried software centre and trawled Cisco.com but without any success. Please help! Thankyou...

there are different ways to get LMS 3.2
    1) download the evaluation version of LMS 3.2 from www.cisco.com/go/nmsevals

               or

www.cisco.com/go/lms (at the bottom there is a link "Download Evaluation Software")
at the end both links are pointing to the same location
when you have the eval, install it on top of your LMS 3.1 installation and you will get a licensed LMS 3.2

    2) go to www.cisco.com/go/upgrade enter your contract number and place a free order to get the DVDs for installing it

keep in mind that after installing LMS 3.2 there is a service pack available for LMS 3.2 which updates it to LMS 3.2.1
http://www.cisco.com/cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282635181&flowid=16561&softwareid=280775102&os=Windows&release=3.2.1&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

Hi Mermel...

Thankyou very much for clearing that up for me! It's downloading as we speak, typical Cisco making things hard for themselves... Whats wrong with supplying a button saying 'Get your 3.1 to 3.2 LMS Windows download here!'

Thankyou again! :o)

Andy...

Andy,
fine that I could help. I know it is not easy to keep an overview of LMS and all its versions - perhaps this document I published a while ago can help you in some way - I try to keep the links to patches updated

Cisco Works - Applications and Versions -

Hi Mermel,

My mane is Luis and I did yesterday a migration form LMS R3.1 to LMS R3.2 on Windows. All the migration and installations seen to be ok. But now when I tried to connect to the portal I got the login page, then I punt the user name and user password, but I got this page please se the doc file attached.

Do I did something wrong, or I need to do something else.

Regards,

Luis Martinez

Luis,

please open a new thread for your issue and provide the install log file from the upgrade (located in C:\) and NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/logs/stdout.log.

What about the points mentioned in this doc:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9132
are there any points which were not met when you started the upgrade?

Hello Mermel,

This morning I opened another thread for this issue, you could see the post in.

https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2087309?tstart=0

About the point mentioned in the doc about the installation, I had no problems.

Any help would be wellcome.

Regards,

Luis

Hi Mermel,

I downloaded the 3.2 upgrade to our win2003 server and launched the installer. I am then prompted about HUM licensing and click 'next' then the installer just quits without any error messages shown.

I've tried this a few times, but it just does the same. I've deleted the 3.2 upgrade and re-downloaded and restarted the server, but again without success. Any ideas as to what i am doing wrong?

Thankyou...

Andy

Andy,
first be sure you have checked all the points mentioned in this document:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9132
when the update will start it will make a backup - if you cannot disable Antivirus software completely, be sure to exclude the backup target directory from AV access - otherwise this can take hours....

Regarding HUM - have you a valid license for it ? If not, when you are going to be asked which modules to install, then uncheck HUM. This should do the trick

Hi Martin,

I've tried all of the above suggestions, still without any success. Whats really annoying is there is no error message or clue as to why or where the installation fails. Running out of ideas here...

Andy

Hi Martin,

We've re-downloaded the update, disabled anti-virus, uninstalled java and reinstalled, gone through your technical walk through, but still the update is unexpectedly quitting out without any error messages. All recommendations we have followed to the letter but still no success. Have you experienced this kind of problem before? Is there an alternative way of getting the update onto our win2003 server platform?

Yours in desperate need...

Andy...

I was out of office, - sorry for the late reply

if I remeber well, I had issues when HUM was installed as an eval on LMS 3.1 and I tried the upgrade with the LMS 3.2 eval version. Try this:

- make sure you have a valid bakup of your current LMS installation

- in a DOS box start the installation with the "nobackup" option, like this

     lms-3-2-Win-eval.exe nobackup

- if this still fails, post the current installation log located in C:\

Hi Martin,

Please see log file and thankyou for you help with this!
