Hi all,
I want syslog to have all failed and succefull login attempts. I configured as following:
login on-sucess log
login on-failure log
But after some failed login attempts, the syslog does not show anything linked with failed login attempts.
My IOS version is 12.2(25)SEB2.
Any ideas will be of great help.

hi
As per the supporting doc this feature is introduced in 12.3(4)T and later integrated in 12.2(25)S
Also have you tried configuring login on-failure log every 1 ?? which will log you after every failed attempt ?

I treid login on-failure log every 1, but result is the same.
As I understood I have to configure a username and password for vty lines, and after that the failed logs will be displayed. Up till now I have just a password for my vty lines.
Is it right that a user and password must be configured ?

hi
you can check up the same by configuring a local username and password in the global config mode and entering login local under the vty which will make use of the local username/password..

I've just finished implementing this. You must configure a username and password, then you can put
line vty 0 15
login local
It should work then.
I log to Cisco Works then use the define automated action to send pages to my nextel.
