Hi All,
on a 4.2.1 LMS installation, switch ports that have port security configured and there happens a violation, thus going into errdisable mode, DO NOT show any alarms on the dashboard. Therefore we don't see any errdisabled ports listed.
Has anyone seen this before?
Thank you,
George

what is your schedule for faulty discovery ?
are the device managed ?

Fault discovery uses the defaults. On another installation for another customer this works fine. Additionally, this is a trap sent by the device to the LMS so no need for fault discovery. Also, the debugs for the device site show that the meesages are being generated and sent to the LMS over the SNMP.
The device is a 4507R+E-SUP7L.
Any more thoughts?

It should generally work. I have an LMS 4.2.1 installation that definitely shows errrdisable ports on the main dashboard (and relevant submenus).

Yes I know, on another installation for another customer this works fine.
Any more suggestions?
Thanks

update device packages
might be new for c4500
did you give reload a try ?
/etc/init.d/dmgtd stop
...
/etc/init.d/dmgtd start
if its on windows, you have several other possible options as to why your UDP/162 trap gets dropped ?

Device packages already up to date.
Reload already done.
LMS and device on the same mgmt VLAN, no ACLs and/or firewall/AV whatsoever...

Do you have the correct snmp trap configured on your 4507? Something like
snmp-server enable traps errdisable

Craig
