Can some one help to clarify the difference between
snmp-server source-interface traps loopback 0
and
snmp-server trap-souce loopback 0 ?

there is no difference, the first is just a replacement of the last. (see here)
I could assume that they just wanted to use the same keywords in different commands.
"trap-source" is very specific to snmp where as source-interface can generally be used like in
logging source-interface ...
cdp source-interface ...

It certainly would make network management easier if we had consisted way to control what IP is used to send traps, SYSLOG and CDP messages. I assume IOS 15 would have all that?

dont know for 15 but they all exists on 12.4T
