Upgrade Prime from 3.7 to 3.9

Looking at the documentation, it looks like it is a fairly straight procedure to go from 3.7 to 3.9.

Any rule of thumb as to how long it takes from doing the initial backup to having the system checked out and running after the upgrade?

I realize it will all depend on the size of the netowrk being monitored and how much data in migrated, just need some "guesses" for the actual upgrade.

Thanks.

f your existing Prime Infrastructure is 3.7.x or 3.8.x, and your upgrade path contains 3.4.x or earlier versions, then you cannot in-line upgrade that server to Prime Infrastructure 3.9 due to security vulnerabilities in the underlying Red Hat 6 installation. You will need to take a backup of the Prime Infrastructure 3.7.x or 3.8.x server, deploy a fresh Prime Infrastructure 3.9 server, and restore that backup into the Prime Infrastructure 3.9 server.

if you upgrade not as mentioned, then  you can do but i follow below rules :

1. take complete appliance and application backup before upgrade to 3.9

2. backup take Long time, make sure you take backup SFTP or outside the box not local repo.

3. Upgade takes easily 5-8 hours depends on the DB size.

Also Look at release notes :
