Voice vlan not working

Nolan Hernandez

So I just recently got a Cisco SG550x-48 and everything was going good during configuration but while I was in the process of trying to create a voice vlan no matter what I tried I couldn't assign a port a data vlan and a voice vlan and I would always get a message stating “wrong number of parameters or invalid range, size or characters entered” and no matter what I do i cant seem to get it. Any Advice?

Its when I use "voice vlan 10" almost everything I have found documentation wise doesn't match what is happening

Hello,

the SG550X uses 'voice vlan id' as far as I recall. Try:

voice vlan id 10

yeah I've attempted using that command it doesn't show any notifications and when i look and the running config voice vlan doesn't appear on the port

In some situations, the voice VLAN may either not be configured on the port or is configured for the incorrect voice VLAN. Not having the correct voice VLAN configured on the problematic port can mean the difference between a working or non-working phone.

Greeting,

Rachel Gomez

yeah the problem is i cant assign the actual port to the voice vlan

Can you post show run and tell us what firmware running.
