28xx VS 2610XM config wise

Hi NetPro VoIP Guru,

Can anyone please kindly explain to me the functions of the following commands?

1) network-clock-participate wic 0

2) voice-card 0

no dspfarm

I have done a lot of 2610XM configuration as a Voice Gateway, but not as much for a 2811 as a Voice Gateway. Is there much difference in terms of configuration for a 2610XM VS 2811 as a Voice Gateway? If so, can you guys please tell me what to what out for or any gotcha?

the 28xx routers are positioned by cisco as voice routers. they have the ability to do DSPfarming right on the motherboard. That is why you see voice card 0. If you dont need to use it, dont worry about it. You can use it for conferencing/ xcode resources.

Secondly, the 37xx and 38xx routers have a clock concept where you assign one WIC card to be the primary clock and have the reset "follow" that. That is the reason you need network clock participate and network clock select commands.. the 26xx/3600 and older routers did not have this concept.
