7940/7960 Custom Color Cases/Handsets

I seem to remember one of our past Cisco SE's that

mentioned a third party vendor that was manufacturing

either custom color cases (replacing the stock dark

gray with silver bezel plastic case) or the handset

itself.

I remember implementing a site where we had obtained

red handsets for the "SRST enabled" handsets; but

am unable to find where those were procured from.

Of course we can always raid a Fry's or Radio Shack

for red handset cables instead. . . (grin)

But does anyone know of a current vendor that produces

these for Cisco IP Phone sets?

--- Thanks ---

Red sticker set from Overlay Pro -

To avoid the url wrap challenge, just go to:

http://www.overlaypro.com/store/

and search on Cisco

You can couple this with a push to talk handset from Walker Technologies - original handset modified with a PTT button.

Could you elaborate on the PTT handset from Walker. Exactly what does it do? I tried getting an answer from Walker and they simply replied - it works with Cisco. Their website said something about 'secure' communications.

Essentially the 'push-to-talk' button disconnects the handset mic when it's not being pressed. This really is just a forced mute function which means that background conversations (or noise) don't get picked up. Very useful if you work in a secure environment, have lots of equipment around, or just really noisy co-workers.

OK - Thanks. When they talked about secure, I thought it worked with some ACS or key server in the background and encrypted the link.

Thanks for explaining that. I might actually have a need for that.

This was what we were looking for, though the other

manufacturer that I remember also had other safety

colors available.

Out of curiousity, what is the link for the Walker

PTT product? I tried googling for it and came up

with a Walker Technologies that makes phone sets

with amplifiers - not just handsets.

Thanks
