Hello Cheh,

A part number does not exist for this becase Cisco "does not make or provide the RJ21 connector cable" (see http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/788/AVVID/config_cm_smdi.html).

I would just call them "FXS Telco amphenol connectors"

To add to the discussion.

Amphenol is the largest manufacturer of the RJ-21 connectors, so you can usually call it by that name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rj21

The connectors on the VG248 are female, so you will need to get male ends to connect to it, and you can usually order them by 90, 180 , and 270 angles. If I remember right the 90's will go to the right as you face the connector, the 180's will come straight out and the 270's will go to the left. I may have the 90 and 270 backwards, but that will give you an idea of your options. The other end of the cable can be unterminated so that you can punch it down to a 66 or 110 block, or it can be terminated to an rj21 end and pluged directly into another device or a 66 block with that connector. You have a few options when ordering the RJ21

Hope that helps

Just to add to this as well, I had my cabling put in some brand that did not preform. The cable would not make a good contact with the VG248. No matter how tight the screws were or the velcro fastner, I had to wiggle the or press on the RJ-21 to get the connect to stick. I have asked Cisco to recommend a company, but no luck.

Anyone find a decent brand yet? I think mine that were installed were knock offs and the plastic RJ-21 was cheap plastic that did not hold it's form very well.

All 4 of my VG248 had the same issue. First I thought it was the VG's, but then it happened on all of them.

We always used AMP as a cable manufacturer and I don't ever remember having a problem with them.

I also found the perfect screws for those, since the ones that come with the cables were always too long. I get them at Home Depot for very little $, they are #4-40 x 1/2
