Question is:
If I put version 7 to vfc then it going to work. But I'd like to know what is the differences between DSPM boards or between C549 or between AS itself that let it have last vfc software.........
Here is some info:
Router#show vfc 1 version vcware
Voice Feature Card in Slot 1:
VCWare Version : 9.20a
ROM Monitor Version: 1.3
DSPWare Version : 3.6.16aL
Technology : C549
Firmware version mismatch for bundle AS5300 VCWare
- version found (9.20a) is higher than maximum allowed (7.xx)
Firmware version mismatch for bundle AS5300 C549
- version found (3.6.16aL) is higher than maximum allowed (3.4.xxL)
Router#show vfc 1 version dspware
DSPWare version in VFC slot 1 is 3.6.16aL
Firmware version mismatch for bundle AS5300 VCWare
- version found (9.20a) is higher than maximum allowed (7.xx)
Firmware version mismatch for bundle AS5300 C549
- version found (3.6.16aL) is higher than maximum allowed (3.4.xxL)

Go to this URL:
It has a vfc/ios compatibility matrix. So shows you what vfc version should be run with each IOS version. So if you require something in a later vfc then you also need to upgrade your IOS to match.

Sorry it is not work...
I read this and many others before I did posting...
:-)
So I tried matching version for latest versions.... NO luck...
08-27-2002 11:11 PM
What version of IOS are you running?
08-28-2002 07:17 AM
c5300-js-mz.122-2.XB6.bin which is ENTERPRISE VOICE PLUS
And I tried vcware 9.19 and 9.20a.

Can you please paste in the output of the command 'show ver'

This is message that I am worry about....
00:00:58: DSPM 1 (type C542) in slot 1 is incompatible with installed VCWare (type C549)
00:00:58: DSPM 2 (type C542) in slot 1 is incompatible with installed VCWare (type C549)
00:00:58: DSPM 3 (type C542) in slot 1 is incompatible with installed VCWare (type C549)
00:00:58: DSPM 4 (type C542) in slot 1 is incompatible with installed VCWare (type C549)
Now I am trying use c5300-js-mz.122-11.T.bin
and vcw-vfc-mz.c549.hc.10.26.bin
And vcm do not unbind... Just says that it is and it is not....
First moment after boot I can see
24 DSP(s), 24 Voice resource(s)
Then after few seconds
24 DSP(s), 48 Voice resource(s)
This is full sh ver:

Router#sh vfc 1 v v
Voice Feature Card in Slot 1:
VCWare Version : 10.26
ROM Monitor Version: 1.3
DSPWare Version : 4.0.26
Technology : C549
VCWare/DSPWare version compatibility OK
Router#sh vfc 1 v d
DSPWare version in VFC slot 1 is 4.0.26
VCWare/DSPWare version compatibility OK
Router#sh vfc 1 di
Files in slot 1 VFC flash:
File Name Size (Bytes)
1 . vcw-vfc-mz.c549.hc.10.26.bin 471548
Router#sh vfc 1 ca
Capability List for VFC in slot 1:
1. cor-vfc-hc-l.4.0.26.bin

10. cdc-gsmfr-hc-l.4.0.26.bin
11. cdc-gefr-hc-l.4.0.26.bin
=========================================================
Then I put c5300-js-mz.122-10a.bin
and vcw-vfc-mz.c549.hc.7.40.bin
And it seems OK...I mean it (vcw) was unbundled...
And at boot I can see
The same.....
========================
Bottom line....
I feel that software IOS OK and VCWare as well...But ...This starting message and that fact that I see 24 voices at first and 48 then....
The only thing I can think - This voice boards have C549 and some jumpers in the board ....So this jumpers are too tall and I am checking board with only one DSPM module in (I thought just cut them to be able insert 2 boards)...
I have label DSP ver 2.1 on this boards...
So what can you say....
08-28-2002 11:37 PM
Oh ok now it makes sense.
There are two different VFC technologies, C542 & C549. So if you remove current vfc file and install vcw-vfc-mz.c542.10.26.bin instead it should be fine.
08-29-2002 07:01 AM
May be I was not clear...
Boards are with C549 chips.... So I know for sure wich technology I have...
Problem are somewhere else....
Should those messages comes in any box.... Or it is just this one 5300 problem....
May be I shouldupgrade boot flash .... I am not sure....
08-29-2002 05:03 PM
Just so I'm clear on the problem can you please paste the output from the following commands:
show vfc 1 interface
show vfc 1 v v
08-29-2002 06:09 PM
This time I have 2 vfc and it is wierd that one DSP is OK and others not....
Nut all are the same... at least visual.....

I tested this on 2 as5300 and got similar results. It seems to be a bug?
I'm talking to TAC now to try and find out what is going on.
I will let you know the outcome when I know more.
