Hi,
It's been a while since I deployed any new voice routers, I have a need for 8 BRI ports on a new router, do I need a PVDM DSP chip for this? I am looking at a 2901 with 2 HWIC-4B-S/T
Thanks
Jon

No. You install them directly on the chassis together with the PVDM3.

HWIC-4B-S/T does not support voice, and does not requires DSP to work for its data-only functions.
for 8 BRI, you will need 4x VIC2-2BRI-ST/TE and a minimum of PVDM3-16.

Thanks Paolo,
I'll need to check exactly which BRI module is on our existing setup.
Asssuming I need 4 X VIC2's would I need to put those on a HM-HD-2V? (and therfore need a bigger router than a 2901)
Thanks
Jon
