We have a problem with an IP phone randomly reseting, the user was on a call, and the phone reset and said CM Disabled, then it reset and was back to normal. It happened a few times over a month. What could be the possible problem and how can we fix it? Thank you.

check the cable and the connectors end-to-end.
Most of problems of reseting IP Phone is poor cable connectors.
Even if the cable connected to the pc works fine, should check the connectors.

There are a few phones having the same problems ( keep resetting) , it doesnt seem to be the cable problems. What could be the other reason for this? Thank you.

try replacing the phone with one that does not reset. i had the same issue and the problem was a defective phone.

Can you describe your network a little - i.e. location of phones/CM, type of links, any firewalls in the path etc...?

This happened to us with 7970. Updated the phone load and the problem went away. You may want to udate the load on the individual phone and see if it helps.
