HI!

We need make ip -telephony at 100 sites but where exist only DC reliable power .

3521-pwr with inline power for ip-phone would be finest financial solution for us problem but this device doesnot have DC power

Install 4500 with DC and inline too expensive for only 1 phone

Why CIsco could not make device from 3500 series catalyst with DC power for switch and inline power for phone ?

Maybe anyone know alternative Cisco ?

If your need is for exactly one phone, then you should choose the best switch for your needs _except_ for your inline power requirement. There are other ways you can supply a single phone.

An inexpensive (about $50 US) AC adapter is available, which could potentially be plugged into a AC-DC converter, depending on the DC voltage you have available. The phones run on 48V DC, so if you have 48V DC available, you may be able to fashion a direct attachment to your DC power source. Obviously, only do this if your DC power source is very clean and stable.

How about using a DC-AC inverter? To make it reliable, you can use your DC to charge 12V batteries and then run an inverter to power the 3524s. You will need a 12V charger that runs from whatever your DC supply voltage is, of course, but the whole thing would be fairly inexpensive compared to other alternatives.

Thanks to all for answer !

We also thought about it and probably we will looking for acceptable DC-AC converter but in this case we need gather so many certificates which confirm fire safety

because it's oil pipeline object

Thanks again
