Is there anyway to send a Network Admin an email, or page, or some type of notification when his router goes into SRST mode?

Thanks,

John

You may look into RTMT when ccm.exe service goes down.

other suggestions?

Set up RTMT to alarm when the number of registered phones goes below a certain level. There's even a default alert already built for when the number of registered phones in the cluster drops 10%. Send it to an email address that lights up alphanumeric pagers, or to multiple addresses for email and pager alert.

SRST supports SNMP MIBs and traps. If you have any SNMP monitoring tools, you can use those to find out the status of SRST and most monitoring tools supports some kind of a notification method.

Check this link for more details on SRST SNMP capabilities

You would really need to monitor registered phones to the router though (EphoneTotalRegistered) or something along those lines. SRST is not something that gets turned 'on' when phones need it, it's always on. If the phone can't reach the CCM servers then they'll register, but it's passive on the SRST side. It may be that csrstState could give an indication of whether or not SRST is handling phones (I haven't looked at it), but in a WAN-down situation would the router even be reachable?
