Have installed DIRT v1.0.117, I was hoping to take a
backup of my Unity v3.1, build 3.1(3).
When the DiRT Software is loaded, a window opens with
all the words/characters displayed as stars (ie.****).
Has anyone any ideas how I can resolve this ?
thanks

Try uninstalling and reinstalling. Can you post the picture (worth a thousand words)?

Hi,
I;m gettign the same thing - screen shot attahced,
I uninstalled the DIRT from www.ciscounitytools.com (2 versions were showign in add/remove progs) which didi the same thing wehen re-installed.
I then ran the one from 4.0(4) disk and all was well.

I don't think that the problem you are seeing is from the DiRT tool itself. What is the default language installed for Windows?

Hi,
UK English on this install.

I am having the exact same symptoms with the .117 version on a server in the UK. Before the server was upgraded from Win2k SP2 to SP4, DiRT backup would run, but not now. I have tried to reproduce the problem on my 3.1 Unity lab system, to no avail. Just tried the .118 version released yesterday, but the problem is the same.
Do you know what version you used from the 4.0(4) disk?
