Voice Echo and the Tail Circuit

I understand that adjusting the echo-cancel coverage and suppressors, will help adjust and minimize echo. I also know it is useful to adjust the input gain. However, when is the best time to adjust the output attenuation on an FXO port. In one instance, I have the coverage and suppressor at it's max, while I have the input gain at 3- which lowers overall volume. Would it be worthwhile to adjust the output attenuation as well.

What is the easiest way to determine what amount of echo you are receiving by interface or call statistics.

Hi, yes best to set both as follows

input gain -3

output attenuation 3

I usually do this on all voice ports, sometimes if you have faxes conencted need to go to 6,

its always better to have a "quiet" call as opposed to echo
