Spanning-Tree and Peer Gateway

Hello, I ran into a design where spanning-tree priority is set to 0 on both core switches(9372’s).

I also saw that peer gateway is configured. 

What I need to clarify on is if we’re not using the peer gateway command should stp be configured with root primary for 9k1 and root secondary for 9k2? And if we’re configuring peer gateway does the stp config has to match on both 9ks? And why?

Depends on how you configured the both nexus switches, are they configured with vPC, if you can post both the device configuration and topology we can advise based on the information provided
